Brego, a UK vehicle valuations and automotive data company, said used electric vehicles continued to sell faster than the wider used car market for a third consecutive month, despite rising stock levels. The company's head of insight and communications, Rupert Pontin, said used EVs took an average of 35 days to sell in each of June, July and August 2026, compared with 39 days for the wider market in June, 38.3 days in July and 38.6 days in August. Brego added that EV advert volumes rose 6.1% in July and 1.5% in August, even as sales times held steady. The BYD Atto 3 Evo was the fastest-selling used EV at 8.8 days, ahead of the Leapmotor B10 at 9.8 days and the Leapmotor C10 at 11.4 days. Pontin said used EVs selling faster than the wider market for three months in a row "makes this a trend worth paying attention to" (Motor Trader). Pontin said the 35-day average had been held "while EV advert volumes increased in both July and August", which he took as a sign of healthy demand for the right electric stock rather than a one-month movement. He added that performance still varied significantly between individual derivatives, and that dealers needed to understand what was moving, at what price and in which part of the market, rather than assuming all used EVs would perform in the same way. Brego, which was established in 2019 and is registered in England as Brego Limited, provides AI-based vehicle valuations, market analytics and data services to lenders, dealers, insurers, leasing companies and manufacturers. Pontin, who is also deputy chairman of the Vehicle Remarketing Association, joined the company as head of insight and communications in 2025 to lead its monthly market insight work.
