New Renault Trucks E-Tech Trafic targets 470km range ahead of 2027 launch
Renault Trucks has unveiled its new E-Tech Trafic electric van, with up to 470km of WLTP range, 800V rapid charging and European sales due to begin in the first half of 2027.
Renault Trucks has revealed the new Renault Trucks E-Tech Trafic at IAA Transportation 2026, as the manufacturer targets growth in Europe's light commercial vehicle market. The related Renault Trafic Van E-Tech Electric was also named International Van of the Year 2027 at the Hanover show.
The launch forms part of Renault Trucks' ambition to double its light commercial vehicle sales volumes by 2030, reaching 40,000 vehicles per year across its LCV business.
The electric van uses an 800V architecture and offers up to 470km of WLTP combined range, with homologation still pending. Its battery can charge from 15% to 80% in around 20 minutes on a DC rapid charger, recovering up to 280km of range.
Range and charging
Renault Group says the related Trafic Van E-Tech Electric can achieve up to 690km of range in urban use. The group also claims up to 380km of urban range can be recovered in 20 minutes of charging.
The Renault Trucks E-Tech Trafic will be offered as a panel van and platform cab. Renault Trucks' UK product information lists payloads of up to 1,300kg for the panel van and up to 1,500kg for the platform cab, with the latter supporting body volumes of up to 15m³.
Renault Trucks says the E-Tech Trafic will go on sale in Europe during the first half of 2027. UK pricing has not yet been announced.
The model forms part of Renault Trucks' wider push into the light commercial vehicle market, with the manufacturer aiming to double annual LCV sales to 40,000 units by 2030.
What we're watching: UK pricing and final homologated range figures; confirmation of the UK launch timetable and specification; and how the E-Tech Trafic's real-world range and charging performance compare with Renault Trucks' pre-launch figures once customer vehicles enter service.
