Cookie policy
Most of THRIVE sets no tracking cookies. The exception is advertising on our news article pages, which — with your consent — uses cookies as described below.
What we use
- Advertising cookies (news article pages only). We show a small number of adverts on individual news article pages via Google AdSense. When you consent, Google may set cookies or similar storage to serve, cap and measure adverts. Adverts appear nowhere else on the site.
- Cookieless analytics. We measure aggregate, anonymous traffic and performance with Vercel Analytics, which does not set cookies and does not identify individual visitors.
- Strictly necessary technology. Standard hosting may use essential mechanisms to serve the site securely and reliably. These are not used to track you across sites.
Advertising, and your consent
Adverts on news article pages are served by Google AdSense. Before any advertising cookies are set, you are asked for consent through Google's consent message. You can choose personalised adverts (which use cookies to tailor what you see) or non-personalised adverts (which use only limited, non-tracking information such as your general location and the page content). If you decline, we do not set advertising cookies for personalisation.
Your choice is remembered. You can revisit and change it at any time using the “Manage privacy / advertising choices” option in the consent message, or by clearing cookies in your browser. Changing your choice affects future adverts.
Google's use of advertising cookies is governed by Google's advertising policies.
The cockpit
Our private editorial cockpit (not part of this public site) uses a strictly necessary session cookie for sign-in. It is only set for authenticated staff and plays no part in your visit here.
Managing cookies
You can change your advertising consent at any time (see above), and you can clear or block cookies in your browser settings whenever you like. Blocking advertising cookies does not affect your ability to read the site.
