THRIVE verdict
A capable crew van for carrying people and modest loads locally, but payload, volume and price all sit behind rivals.
This is a crew van version of the Dispatch, built for jobs that need both seats and cargo space. Its official range of 194 miles sits exactly at the median for electric medium vans, and the 69kWh usable battery and 100kW peak DC charging are also median figures - solid but not standout. A rapid charger gets it to 80% in 45 minutes, useful for depot-based, lower-mileage work rather than long motorway days.
Practicality takes a hit from the crew layout: payload of 1,075kg is below the medium van median of 1,173kg, and load volume of 3.2m³ sits in the lowest quarter of the class. Towing at 1,000kg (braked) is also below median. At £44,160 before VAT, it's in the top quarter of medium van prices, and even after the Zero Emission Van Grant it lists £5,155 more than the equivalent diesel Dispatch crew van, which also carries more (1,245kg) on the same 3.2m³ body.
Against electric rivals it's a mixed picture. The Peugeot E-Expert Crew Van M shares identical payload, volume, towing and range figures at the same price, so choice there is down to badge and dealer terms. The Vauxhall Vivaro Electric undercuts it on price while offering more payload and volume for the same range. The diesel Ford Transit Custom crew van is cheaper still and tows more, worth a look for operators not tied to electric running.
Best for
- Crews needing seats plus cargo on local, depot-based routes
- Operators who can charge at depot or home rather than on public rapid chargers
- Fleets wanting the Zero Emission Van Grant to offset the diesel price gap
Think twice
- Payload below the medium van median (1,075kg vs 1,173kg)
- Load volume in the bottom quarter of the class at 3.2m³
- List price in the top quarter, and still £5,155 above the diesel equivalent after grant

Electric or diesel?
How the Citroën ë-Dispatch Crew Van M Electric 136hp Automatic Enterprise (75kWh) compares with Citroën Dispatch Crew Van M Diesel 150hp Manual Enterprise, the same body with the other powertrain, for a typical working day.
Electric could work: check the points below
- Range. 100 miles a day sits comfortably inside a planning range of about 136 miles, so an overnight charge covers the day.
- Payload. The electric version carries 170kg less (1,075kg against 1,245kg).
- Towing. Braked towing: 1,000kg electric, 2,500kg diesel.
- Energy. Charging at a small-business depot costs about 10.2p a mile against 18.6p for diesel: roughly £2,100 a year less at 25,000 miles.
- Price. The electric version lists for £5,155 more after the £5,000 zero emission van and truck grant, which the energy saving covers in about 2.5 years.
When the diesel is the more practical choice
- Loads that use the last 170kg of the diesel's payload.
- Towing more than 1,000kg.
How this is worked out
- Planning range is 70% of the official 194-mile WLTP figure, allowing for winter weather and a full load.
- Energy use 0.356 kWh a mile: the usable battery divided by the official range.
- Diesel 165.48p a litre excluding VAT (DESNZ, week of 2 November 2026); the Citroën Dispatch Crew Van M Diesel 150hp Manual Enterprise's official 40.4mpg.
- Electricity: 28.59p/kWh at a small-business depot (DESNZ, excluding VAT), 26.32p at home as the driver pays (Ofgem price cap), 65.83p on public rapid chargers (Zapmap, excluding VAT).
- 250 working days a year. List prices exclude VAT and options; running costs exclude servicing, insurance, tax and residual values.

Crew Van interior table, row 'Load length at floor' (mid-height 1352/1700 not used); the crew table gives no width or height rows, so those fields are left blank for crew vans. Body mapping: the price list names the versions 'Panel Van M / Crew Van M' and the dimension tables head the columns M/XL (overall length 4980 < 5331), so M = M. Electric van: the dimensions page's own heading is 'CITROËN Ë-DISPATCH & DISPATCH', which is page-specific (other pages are headed 'CITROËN Ë-DISPATCH' alone, e.g. p6 electric prices and p13, or 'CITROËN DISPATCH' alone, e.g. p14-15 diesel technical), so the tables cover both (electric policy rule 4a, as for the Ë-RELAY & RELAY page); no separate electric rows or brackets on the page.
