That, combined with a load bay that takes two Euro pallets or one UK pallet in a single row, and up to 1.8m of pipe or timber, makes it a genuine workhorse for trades hauling a trailer as well as a load.
Set against that, the 3.3m³ load volume sits below the median for small vans, and the 45kWh usable battery and 80kW peak DC charging both fall in the lowest quarter for electric small vans of this size. Rapid charging from 15-80% takes 37 minutes, so this suits depot or home charging patterns rather than frequent fast top-ups on the road.
At £32,105 before the grant, it sits in the highest price quarter for small vans, and after the Zero Emission Van Grant it still lists £6,965 above the equivalent petrol Townstar. Electric running costs tend to undercut diesel when charged at depot or home, but that gap narrows or reverses on public rapid chargers, so the sums depend on where and how often the van charges.
