Logistics UK responds to Budget announcement that freeze on fuel duty is to be maintained
Logistics UK chief executive Ben Fletcher says the Chancellor's decision in today's Budget to keep the 5p per litre cut in fuel duty is a wise one that will help keep trade moving, support growth and avoid adding further inflationary pressure. The day before the Budget, the group had urged the government to retain the cut. The press release is published below as supplied.

Speaking in response to Chancellor John Healey’s announcement in the Budget that the current freeze on fuel duty is to be maintained, Ben Fletcher, Chief Executive of business group Logistics UK said:
“The government's decision to retain the 5p per litre cut in Fuel Duty is a wise decision which will help keep trade moving, support growth across the economy and avoid adding further inflationary pressures.
