A capable load-carrier with strong volume but modest payload and towing for the class.
The ë-Berlingo XL offers a genuinely useful load bay: 3.9m³ puts it in the top quarter of small vans, and the floor takes two Euro or UK pallets in a single row, with up to 2.1m of pipe or timber. That makes it a good fit for trades carrying bulky, light loads rather than heavy materials.
Payload is the compromise: 691kg sits below the class median of 741kg, and towing at 750kg is in the lowest quarter too. The 50.7kWh usable battery is in the top quarter for electric small vans, and 100kW DC charging is about average, giving 0-80% in 30 minutes - useful for depot or multi-drop operations needing a midday top-up.
At £29,905 it sits above the median small van price, and after the Zero Emission Van Grant it still lists £2,985 more than the equivalent diesel Berlingo, which carries far more payload at 936kg. Electric running costs are lower when charged at base, but worse on public rapid chargers, so the right choice depends on mileage and charging pattern.
