Arval UK BEVs pass 63,000 to reach 30% of leased fleet
The leasing specialist says its 2025 Sustainability Report shows a 16% year-on-year rise in battery electric vehicles, reaching a decarbonisation milestone a year early.
Arval UK has surpassed 63,000 battery electric vehicles on its books, with BEVs now accounting for 30% of its total UK leased fleet, according to Fleet World's report on the company's newly published 2025 Sustainability Report.
The company says it achieved a 16% year-on-year increase in BEVs, reaching the milestone a year ahead of its decarbonisation target, Fleet World reported.
Arval UK says the shift towards electric vehicles has helped deliver a 38% reduction in average theoretical tailpipe CO2 emissions across its fleet, exceeding its own 30% global reduction target.
The company's internal fleet has moved further still: Arval UK's own company fleet is 88% electric, and it says all new employee vehicle orders placed in 2025 were for BEVs.
Arval UK was awarded an EcoVadis Platinum medal, an upgrade from Gold the previous year, placing it in the top 1% globally.
Zoe Maitland, Arval UK's head of sustainability, said 84% of employees in a recent survey believe the company is environmentally responsible, adding that the sustainability report "can strengthen the good faith our stakeholders have in our sustainability leadership."
Arval UK also cites a 91.4% customer satisfaction score for sustainability from a recent corporate survey, up 2.4 percentage points on 2024, and a 22% cut in its liable accident rate against 2020 baselines through its partnership with road safety charity Brake.
Lakshmi Moorthy, Arval UK's chief executive and managing director, said sustainability guides how the company grows and operates, "whether through decarbonising our own fleet and supporting customers on the same journey, reducing our operational carbon footprint, investing in our people, or strengthening our engagement with local communities."
