East Durham College seeks tenders for five wheelchair-accessible minibuses under a five-year fully maintained lease.
East Durham College, a further education college in County Durham, has invited tenders under reference CA18483 for the supply and maintenance of college minibuses, according to a notice on Contracts Finder.
The college is seeking suitably qualified and experienced vehicle leasing providers to supply five new wheelchair accessible minibuses under a fully maintained operating lease arrangement.
The college teaches students aged 16 and above, from entry level to foundation degree programmes, and operates three campuses: the Peterlee campus on Willerby Grove, the Technical Academy on Peterlee's South West Industrial Estate and the Houghall campus near Durham City, a specialist land-based site. It was graded 'Good' by Ofsted following a full inspection in April 2024. It describes itself as a highly inclusive college, with dedicated foundation departments for students with special educational needs and disabilities at both its Peterlee and Houghall campuses.
For the college, running new vehicles would mean an up-to-date fleet that presents a consistent brand image, with higher reliability and less downtime than older fleet vehicles.
