InstaVolt charging rewards can now be converted to Virgin Points

Drivers who pay for charging through the InstaVolt app earn between one and 15 Volts per £1 spent. From 2 November 2026 they can move those Volts into Virgin Red at one-to-one, or keep them as InstaVolt charging credit worth 1p each.

InstaVolt has partnered with Virgin Red, Virgin's rewards club, to let UK drivers convert points earned from charging into Virgin Points. The partnership was announced in London on 2 November 2026. From that date, drivers can transfer their InstaVolt Miles points, known as Volts, into Virgin Points at a rate of one Volt to one Virgin Point.

InstaVolt Miles is a free rewards programme for InstaVolt app users and was introduced in October. Drivers are enrolled automatically, with no separate sign-up or subscription, and earn Volts for every £1 spent charging through the app. The programme has four tiers, which earn between one and 15 Volts per £1. Converting to Virgin Points is optional: drivers can instead use Volts towards future charging, where each Volt is worth 1p of InstaVolt charging credit.

Volts are also earned at InstaVolt's off-peak app rate of 55p/kWh, which applies between 8pm and 7am, at the same number of Volts per £1 as at other times of day. InstaVolt says drivers can earn Volts at any of its more than 4,000 chargers across 1,200 sites, and describes itself as the UK's largest ultra-rapid charging network.

On the Virgin side, points can be spent on Virgin Voyages sailings, Virgin Hotels Collection stays and Virgin Atlantic reward seats and upgrades, as well as cinema tickets, meals and Virgin Experience Days.

InstaVolt chief executive Delvin Lane said: "Unlike some other rewards programmes, there’s no subscription fee or membership cost. It’s all included in our free InstaVolt app, so drivers can simply charge as they normally would, earn Volts and choose how they want to use them."
