Lloyds Banking Group has decided to create Lloyds Auto, a new customer-facing brand bringing together its Lex Autolease, Tusker and Black Horse divisions, Fleet News reported. The group says the aim is to create a simpler, clearer experience for motor finance, leasing and salary sacrifice customers and partners.

Lloyds says there will be no immediate changes for fleets as a result of the rebrand, with existing products, agreements and services continuing as currently operated for now. Preston Rogers, interim managing director for transport at Lloyds Banking Group, said that for customers and partners there is "nothing they need to do today", with products, agreements and services continuing "as normal" while people are kept updated as the brand change progresses.

The new brand follows Lloyds' appointment of Kit Wisdom as managing director of both Lex Autolease and Tusker in August 2026, as the group looked to bring its leasing operations into closer alignment.

Rogers said Black Horse, Lex Autolease and Tusker are "trusted brands with strong heritage and deep expertise", and that bringing them together as Lloyds Auto "is about building on those strengths and setting our business up for the future". He added that the new brand would give the group "one clear brand through which we can focus investment, innovate at pace and deliver better experiences over time".

Lloyds Transport, based on the combined risk fleets of Lex Autolease and Tusker, was ranked the UK's largest vehicle leasing company in last year's FN50 survey, Fleet News's own industry ranking, with this year's results due to be published in November. The Lloyds Auto announcement follows the group's earlier announcement that Halifax will change to Lloyds.
