The report, due to launch on 19 November 2026, will set out recommendations on growth, competitiveness and investment for Northern Ireland's logistics industry. Logistics UK says the industry has more than 6,000 businesses employing almost 70,000 people.

Logistics UK will host its 'Nothing Moves Without Logistics' reception at the Northern Ireland Assembly on Thursday 19 November 2026, HGV Ireland reports. The trade association will use the event to launch a new report on the logistics industry's contribution to Northern Ireland's economy. The report will include recommendations aimed at supporting future growth, competitiveness and investment.
According to Logistics UK, the report will examine the sector's economic importance and identify opportunities to strengthen Northern Ireland's position as a competitive logistics and distribution hub.
Figures highlighted by Logistics UK put the number of logistics businesses operating in Northern Ireland at more than 6,000, employing almost 70,000 people. That is approximately eight per cent of the region's workforce. Logistics UK separately puts the contribution of the wider transport and storage sector to the Northern Ireland economy at an estimated £1.6 billion.
The reception takes place in Room 115 of Parliament Buildings, Stormont, from 1.30pm to 3.30pm. It will bring together political representatives, industry leaders and logistics professionals. The listed speakers are Ben Garratt, Interim Director of Policy and Communications at Logistics UK; Peter McReynolds MLA; and Maire Claire Reid, Managing Director of TST Group.
