Tesco takes delivery of 2,000th electric home delivery vehicle
Maxus vehicles now make up around 70% of Tesco's electric home delivery fleet as the retailer works towards a fully electric operation by 2030.

Tesco has taken delivery of its 2,000th electric home delivery vehicle, a Maxus eDELIVER 9 supplied by Harris Maxus UK, Transport Engineer reports, as the retailer continues working towards operating a fully electric home delivery fleet by 2030.
Maxus vehicles now account for around 70% of Tesco's electric home delivery fleet, reflecting what Transport Engineer described as the long-standing partnership between the two companies.
The milestone follows an order Tesco placed in November 2025 for 750 new Harris Maxus eDELIVER 9 fully electric models, which Transport Engineer reported at the time as the largest single electric vehicle order to date for Harris Maxus UK, with deliveries beginning from February 2026.
Rob Smallwood, Tesco's fleet services operations manager, said: "Reaching 2,000 electric home delivery vehicles is a major milestone for us. It shows that sustainability and operational performance can go hand-in-hand and gives us real momentum as we continue towards our goal of a fully electric home delivery fleet by 2030."
Gary Brown, managing director of Harris Maxus UK, said: "Tesco reaching 2,000 electric vehicles in its grocery home delivery fleet is a big deal, and we're proud that MAXUS vehicles make up the majority of that fleet. It's a strong endorsement of the eDELIVER 9 and the role it's playing in Tesco's transition to a fully-electric grocery home delivery operation."
