Nearly one in three new cars registered in June 2026 was pure electric - BEV share hit 30.0%, up from 24.8% a year earlier, with volumes up 35% to 63,950 units (SMMT). Year-to-date the figure sits at 25.01%, still climbing steadily rather than spiking. For fleet buyers still hedging with PHEVs or diesel, that trajectory is worth building procurement and charging-infrastructure plans around now, rather than assuming the pace will stall.
