AIT Home Delivery adds two Mercedes-Benz eSprinter electric vans for urban routes
Supplied by NRG Riverside, the electric vans will run final-mile delivery routes from AIT's Northampton and Enfield depots as part of the home delivery specialist's wider push to cut fleet emissions.
AIT Home Delivery, a wholly owned subsidiary of AIT Worldwide Logistics, has added two Mercedes-Benz eSprinter electric vans to its delivery fleet, FleetPoint reports.
Supplied by NRG Riverside, the fully electric vans will carry out urban delivery routes from AIT's Northampton and Enfield facilities.
Gary McKelvey, AIT's Vice President Global Home Delivery, said: "Investing in electric vehicles is another important step in our sustainability journey and demonstrates our commitment to delivering smarter, more efficient and lower-emission logistics solutions."
Russell Markstein, Chief Commercial Officer at NRG Riverside, said: "We are delighted to be working with AIT and making a contribution to the company's Scope 1 emissions reduction efforts."
AIT also recently introduced 35 new MAN tractor units capable of running on HVO fuel, which the company says have the potential to reduce lifecycle CO2 emissions by up to 90%.
