Toyota is marking 60 years of Corolla with a limited-run anniversary edition of its British-built hatchback, distinguished by Boreal Blue paint, a contrasting black roof and new 17-inch alloys. The nameplate dates to 1966, reached Europe the following year, and has since sold more than 57 million units, and is now built at 12 locations and sold in 150 countries and regions. UK production has run at Toyota's Burnaston plant since 1998, making this anniversary car a genuinely domestic build rather than an import special. The 60th Anniversary trim is offered solely with the 1.8-litre hybrid powertrain, sitting alongside the regular Hatchback and Touring Sports range that also offers a 2.0-litre, 176bhp option.
