Easee cuts EU charger range to two models to meet AFIR requirements
From 1 January 2027 Charge Max and Charge Pro will be the only chargers Easee sells into EU markets, as Charge Core and Charge Up are phased out and the planned Charge Up2 is scrapped.

Easee has announced that from 1 January 2027, Charge Max and Charge Pro will become the only chargers it sells into EU markets, replacing Charge Core and Charge Up with a single, AFIR and ISO 15118-compliant line-up.
Both remaining models combine MID-certified metering with ISO 15118 support and V2X-ready hardware as standard, according to Easee, meaning every unit ships compliant with the upcoming AFIR requirements rather than needing to be upgraded to meet them.
Charge Core and Charge Up will be phased out in EU markets by 31 December 2026, with a last-buy date of 31 October 2026. Easee said the previously announced Charge Up2 will not now be launched. The company said Charge Up and Charge Core were designed before AFIR's metering and V2X requirements existed and cannot be upgraded to meet the standard.
Easee said Charge Up2 would only have addressed the compliance gap for home charging, duplicating Charge Max while leaving the same issue unresolved elsewhere. Rather than add a fourth product to manage around that gap, the company opted to remove it, leaving two chargers and a single compliance position.
The change does not apply everywhere Easee sells. Norway and Switzerland sit outside the EU and outside this timeline, and Charge Up will remain available there for as long as it meets local requirements. The UK is not affected and continues with its existing product range. Easee also said installed Charge Up and Charge Core units remain fully supported under its warranty and service commitments.
Easee CEO Øyvind Osjord said: "I am very proud that we dare to make this decision, which I firmly believe is the right move for Easee, putting us back in the driver's seat. It gives customers and installers a clearer choice, makes the portfolio easier for our partners to manage, and allows us to focus our resources on fewer products, in everything from lifecycle management, production planning and forecasting to communication and sales."
