Select Car Leasing trials fully self-service online lease ordering on Polestar 2
Personal contract hire customers taking an in-stock Polestar 2 can now get a quote, pass ID and credit checks and pay online without speaking to a consultant. The broker's first self-service deal was funded by Alphabet, and a wider roll-out is planned.

UK leasing broker Select Car Leasing has started letting customers complete a lease order entirely online without speaking to a consultant, Motor Trade News reported on 21 October 2026. The process is being trialled on in-stock personal contract hire (PCH) deals for the electric Polestar 2 before being rolled out more broadly.
Customers on those deals choose colour and trim, verify their identity, get a quote, complete credit checks, make a payment and receive confirmation online. Identity checks use Yoti verification technology, with customers uploading their driving licence and a selfie. Through API connections, real-time quotes come directly from the funders, in this case Lex and Alphabet, and credit proposal submission and decisioning are automated. Digital order forms and Worldpay payments are integrated into Select's MySelect platform.
Select's first self-service deal was funded by Alphabet. Richard Chadwick, head of indirect sales at Alphabet, said: "While this isn’t the first self-service deal Alphabet has funded, Select Car Leasing is among a unique group of businesses leading the way in this area."
Geoff Cockerill, Select's director of operations, said the process "reduces the time it takes a customer to complete a deal compared to the traditional assisted route". He added: "And while self-serve is currently offered on a small number of deals, it’s scalable."
Cockerill said that once fully rolled out, self-service could handle a higher volume of deals without proportionally increasing headcount or operational overheads. He also said leasing consultants would continue to play a major role and that self-serve processes would not diminish staff responsibilities.
