Volkswagen started pre-sales of the ID. Cross with a 37kWh (net) battery in Germany on 19 October 2026. Prices for the entry-level ID. Cross Trend with the 85kW motor start at €27,995 in Germany.

The new version joins the 52kWh ID. Cross, which Volkswagen has offered since the model's world premiere in mid-July.

Volkswagen claims a WLTP range of up to 324km for the 37kWh battery. DC charging at 90kW is standard, and Volkswagen says a 10 to 80 per cent charge takes about 23 minutes. Top speed is 160km/h.

In Germany, the 37kWh battery is offered with 85kW (116PS) or 99kW (135PS) drive systems in Trend, Life and Style trim lines. Standard equipment on the Trend includes front and rear Park Distance Control and App Connect smartphone integration.

Volkswagen says the version is primarily aimed at customers who mainly drive in urban traffic and on typical commuting routes and want a lower entry price.
