Volkswagen ID. Tiguan electric SUV to premiere in October 2026, launch early 2027
The all-electric model will succeed the ID.4 and ID.5 and be sold alongside the existing combustion and hybrid Tiguan, Volkswagen has confirmed.
Volkswagen has confirmed that the new all-electric ID. Tiguan will have its world premiere in early October 2026, ahead of a market launch in early 2027. The electric model will succeed the ID.4 and ID.5, and will be sold alongside the existing Tiguan, which remains available with combustion and hybrid powertrains.
Volkswagen says the Tiguan is currently the best-selling model worldwide for both the Volkswagen brand and the Volkswagen Group, with combined deliveries of the Tiguan and its sister model, the Tayron, exceeding one million units in the past year. Both are available with petrol, diesel and plug-in hybrid powertrains.
The ID.4 and ID.5, which the new electric model will succeed, have together delivered more than 950,000 units since 2021, according to Volkswagen, ranking among the most successful battery-electric model series produced by Volkswagen AG.
